Q: What is your philosophy when it comes to medicating race birds?
The race birds must be medicated once they are raced and are exposed to other birds on a weekly basis during the racing season. Once the racing season is over with, again, almost no medication is needed. This makes for a much healthier subject. Some supply houses will sell you something for every occasion and then some. I am of the belief that once you get a bird out of balance, you are then forever trying to correct that with another potion or medication.
